A Challenging Season Filled with God's Grace
Hello, Dear Friends and Family,
Phew! The first two months of 2026 have been a doozie.
We want to share honestly about what we have been walking through...

Since arriving here over a year ago, our family has experienced a unique season of growth. The Men’s program at His Mansion has been a whirlwind of change recently. At the start of December, we had 24 men in the program. Since then men have come and gone since for many different reasons. Some good and Godly reasons, some not good and the complete opposite. It is difficult to see men walk away from their commitment prematurely, specifically when returning to a lifestyle that is damaging to themselves and others. The pull to old lifestyles can be greater than the desire to change. These are often difficult and heartbreaking moments.
Yet, among all these changes, the Lord has been powerfully at work in the lives of the 14 men we have currently. It is a privilege to work in an environment where the Lord draws men to Himself and see their lives dramatically changed. Some have come in as atheists, antagonistic toward the gospel, and now have a zeal and a love for our Lord. How gracious is our God to save sinners like us! Some come directly from the streets, having been in active addiction for well over a decade, and are now fed, clothed, cleaned-up, and fed the living Word of God. As the months pass, Rune is growing in discipling these men. Learning and growing in caring for their needs physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He truly loves this part of his work, as challenging as it often is.
Here are this Season's Graduates!
Praise God, 3 of our graduates are returning as Servant Leaders.

Winters in New Hampshire are on Another Level
Not only have the last three months been nothing but white with snowy mountains growing more than seven feet tall (all new to us)!
We have experienced the joy of living in a community! We share everything, including bugs... When one gets it, we all get it, and our family was not exempt. Rune and Kane were very sick for much of Mid-January and February, both with high fevers at different points. Rune, for example, was sick for nearly two weeks and bedridden for several days, which rarely ever happens. Kane nearly went to the hospital but thankful the Lord healed him before we needed to do so. Our family (Rune and Kane) was so sick for so long that we missed three whole weeks of church; that is unheard of for us! It was a wake-up call for Rune to re-evaluate his work/family life balance, which has been very refreshing.
Jocelyn & the Baby are in Good Health (Thanks to Your Prayers)
God works all things for good! Because Jocelyn was between 24/27 weeks pregnant, having a high fever could have potentially harmed the baby. So we were praying fervently that Jocelyn and the baby would not get the illness, and by God’s providence, she did not get sick! Praise the Lord!

Jocelyn had been looking forward to hosting another Galentine’s Day gathering this year, but with so much illness both at His Mansion and in our home, she needed to cancel. While it was disappointing to cancel, it is important to put family ministry first, and Jocelyn needed to be a nurse first and foremost. Because of all the illnesses, snow, ice, and other precarious winter conditions, Jocelyn and Kane have been isolated in the house for most of this season. Regardless, Jocelyn has made this a productive time, tending to many administrative tasks and homeschooling Kane.
Kane is Improving in His Life Skills and Slowly with His Speech

Kane is growing steadily. He has a list of chores he takes care of daily and has become a super reliable helper around the house! His speech and reading abilities are greatly improving as well. We are so proud of him! Next week, one of his good friends from church is coming to stay at our house for Kane’s very first sleepover! He is so excited.
Car Trouble
Bessie, our trusted old car, had some scary symptoms this month. Our power steering pump gave out, so we were without a car for a couple of weeks. But God. He, in his amazing providence, arranged a mechanic who came on campus to take care of the whole thing! Bessie still has some life left!
Want to Join Jocelyn's Baby Shower?
On a brighter note, Rune has been consistently progressing in his internship studies with our church and loving it. The pregnancy is going very well, and we are so excited to welcome our little one at the end of May. We are a blessed family, since the announcement of our pregnancy, several women have organized baby showers, we now have three in the upcoming months!

If you would like to buy a baby gift for little baby girl Lekkerkerker here is the link to our Baby Registry. And If you would like to join the Baby Shower on April 4th around 2pm EST through online streaming, please email Jocelyn at jocelynlekk@gmail.com
Even though the past couple of months have been full of challenges, we continue to see the beauty of small victories by His grace, quiet personal and spiritual growth through those challenges, and a bolstering of our faith that the Lord can carry us through hard things.
Prayer Requests for this Month
Thank you for walking alongside us, praying for us, and cheering us on. Your friendship with us makes such a difference to our family, and we are grateful for each of you.
We would really appreciate your prayers and support in these areas:
Please pray for the men and women on the Hill here that the Lord will preserve the unity of the dorms to promote maximum growth, healing, and fruitfulness.
Please pray for Rune to be able to have the stamina, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, to be a Godly husband, Father, student, and ministry administrator (he is not a natural administrator).
Please pray for our little baby, that she will continue to grow to full-term healthily.
Please pray for Jocelyn to have a smooth and uncomplicated birth when the day comes.
Please pray for us as we prepare for the new season ahead with all its changes, and also financially.
Please pray for Kane to have more opportunities to spend time with his friends.
With Gratitude and Love,
Rune, Jocelyn, Kane, and Baby
